  1. Things have taken a slightly weird turn, got this from the photographer;
  2. As I use this stretch of the M1, Newcastle to Nottingham, a few times a year, I’ve not been looking forward to the switch on. Spending more time looking at your speedo than what’s going on around you ain’t good.
  3. Thought they’d stoped making them Ian. We’ve had a 1.8 petrol for a while and love it. Nippy, 4WD and I can get a pinball machine in no problem.
  4. In the 70's my girlfriend had a friend called Sally Lavender. She was going out with Scott Severn.
  5. Ian, the bloke's name is Steve Fisher and I contacted him to buy the pic. He got back to say he'd found six others, he sent me some thumbnails, and was I interested in those too? Since then he's found four more and there's some cracking pics amongst them. He's busy cleaning them up or whatever photographers do to 40 year old negatives and I should have them in a couple of days. Alan.
  6. @IAN123. I've come across that bloke's pics before, he had some "unknown band" pics some of which were of The Turbines so I let him know who they were. You prompted me to have another look and this time I noticed there was a section dedicated to the punters.........And there I am!! Well the back of me. Leather bike jacket with scuffed / torn right shoulder caused when a Moggy 1000 pulled away from the kerb without looking & ran me over as I was overtaking it. Couldn't do owt about it as I wasn't insured. My girlfriend Jayne to my left and Jane, the bass guitarists g
  7. I was there too ‘cos my mate’s band, The Turbines, were backing them. Chris, my bass playing mate in the band, told me Pursey’s mum was backstage sorting his hair out. There’s other details too which I recounted in my first ever NS post. I won’t repeat them as at the time I didn’t realise this wasn’t the type of place for unsavoury posts. S’pose it’s still there in the ether tho’.
  8. @Beekay It didn’t ‘cos I didn’t get a notification.
  9. @Beekay Dunno if it’s worked mate. Should be highlighted, yours to me ain’t. When you put the @ and start typing the name after it a list of relevant names should come up, diminishing as you type more relevant characters until the correct person appears. Once you see the correct name tap (phone) or click (computer) on it & it will autofill. Good luck!
  10. @IAN123. Don’t recall making decs at school but we, younger brother & older sister, religiously made paper chains just before Christmas on our weekly Sunday visits (Sing Something Simple always came on the radio on the way home) to Gran & Grandads in Langley Mill. Hanged from the central light fitting to each corner, balancing precariously on the backs of sofas & chairs to get the drawing pins in the corner of the room. Any left over would be displayed on the walls in a series of arcs.
  11. Weren’t we asked not to do too much “quoting” as it took up valuable space? A simple option is to put @ before someones name as in @DJ360 Doing this alerts the original poster of a reply ‘cos they get a notification. You can also look cool & hip by telling people “don’t @ me”
  12. Making chains and losing drawing pins?
  13. Eh?! Illegal immigrant who swindled £60,000 hotel stay claiming he was living in Grenfell Tower has case adjourned for 'Grenfell Trauma' psychology report' - even though he has never lived there
  14. Stop the world. I want to get off. A senior Met police officer's been put on restricted duties after reportedly using the phrase 'whiter than white' while talking about how his colleages need to be above reproach while carrying out inquiries - he denies doing anything wrong.
  15. Back in the late 70’s I’d taken my girlfriend for a Saturday dinner drink to the Candlesticks, a village pub just out of Ilkeston, on the back of my Honda 500/4. Time for a couple of pints before my dad took is to D*rby for the match with Forest. It was a glorious summer’s day & I was just into my second pint when we heard a commotion. A couple of minutes passed & a woman came over, we were sitting outside, had a word with the GF & took her away. The woman returned, approached me & asked if I was “brave”. I asked why & she said that they thought someone had hange
  16. I’d be tempted with this if I lived a bit closer. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/watson-fothergill-walk-tickets-46502438044
  17. In case you bus fans didn’t know... http://northpointproductions.co.uk/ruddington/event/april-road-transport-event/?instance_id=4757
  18. Footy half time lasting 10 minutes.
  19. Things aren’t going too well for him.... Dave the Cockle Man has fallen and broken his hip. Let's help him get back on his feet, and make sure his dog is well looked after. We have already found someone to look after Cassie, his dog, in the short term. But Dave will need funds for the carers who'll walk the dog when he is discharged from hospital. He will also need support for when he's out of action and unable to work. Someone’s set up a donation page to take care of his dog while he recuperates https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/cockle-man-fund
  20. https://twitter.com/MikeSassi/status/982898960871428096 This popped up on Twitter today. Looks like it's being tidied up but no public access.
  21. Bleddy randy pool attendants. Hope you caught up with him RR.
  22. ^^^ @plantfit I think that nothing registers otherwise every time I went through one on a motorbike I’d have the cops on my tail.
  23. Yes. Couple of miles out from Ilkeston, a small village. In my late teens I had to cut down the landlady of one of the two pubs there, The Candlesticks, who’d hanged herself.
  24. Here’s another. Had a quick look and I can’t see it posted elsewhere. Probably not ‘69 but it’s got to be close (ish)
