My mum had a 'home job', all us kids had to do our bit!! one job was putting hairnets onto cardboard circles.................mind numbing, we did thousands, they were everywhere in the house for weeks

Radford baths was our school swimming day venue, always having some excuse not to go!! Hence I was 42 before I learnt to swim...............

Great topic Compo lad!!...................Wrates were the photographers at Mablethorpe, but I also recall another firm in direct competition with Wrates (stripey blazers), or am I mistaken??? Photo's would be displayed in a round booth at the top of the Pullover??

I remember visiting Sneinton Market, wi' me mam, we had to walk from the bus terminus on Hanley street (& back), mam bought me a pair of glasses once (2nd hand) I could only see proper out one eye!! but they were cheap........................
