I've watched England at Trent Bridge a couple of times over the past few years, being sold out each time. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for County championship games at Trent Bridge. They get bigger crowds for T20 matches, which is a shame. My six year old Great - Nephew has played ' quick ' cricket for Calverton CC and seems to enjoy it, so, any form of cricket is ok with me if it attracts youngsters.

Dean Thomas was a cracking player for Notts, being a strong Captain. I even had the good fortune to watch him at Wembley....twice, wahooo!! That seems a long time ago now!

Sad to hear the news of the death of Terry Pratchett. I have always enjoyed his ' Discworld ' stories.....

Just watched some videos on the above mentioned site. My God, there's even one showing Ken Goodwin at Bridgford Park in 1974!!! I can remember that, I was 10 at the time!. Alas. I could not find myself among the long haired louts crowding round him......

Totally agree with you basfordred. I get more satisfaction watching cup games where the minnows can earn a few bob........and sometimes cause an upset.

What do you expect when Sky are going to pay nearly £5 BILLION for 2 or 3 seasons tv rights.....absolutely scandalous. I feel sorry for the minority who pay for these services....Sky have to claw it back from somewhere.

I'm a Bridgfordian and would like to have seen photos from the early part of the 20th century onwards. I have visited picture the past and I own books about the area but it would have been nice to see some unpublished pictures, if there are any.......

About time they did something with it, it's a real eyesore. That is what travellers from the train station see when they make their way up to the city, inspiring, eh? It should have been pulled down years ago.......
