  1. Have just read an article about the woman with 8 kids on 26 grand a year she has an AGENT !!!!!! thought you had to do something (like Work) to need an agent or is taking the p out of hardworking people now classed as work.
  2. I go to a small local theatre which is 5 minutes from my house, they have been there since 1943. They put on 10 plays each year always a good variety, for a long time there seemed to be the same people for most performances. Two new housing estates have been built opposite the theatre and there is now a lot bigger audience both young and old. It is called The Little Theatre and was started in 1920s by the sisters of a local family. I still visit the Theatre Royal but at the prices they charge very selective in my visits.

I found a photo of my grandparents wedding took it to Jessops thought to fragile for home printing, it cost £20 and worth every penny lovely to see them both so young.   7. Thanks everyone for your best wishes to my daughter. I agree that sometimes medical staff forgot that we know how we feel not them, can't stand arrogance in any walk of like. My daughter was an active sportswoman when younger that caused the problem with her leg.
  8. Thank you nonna i will pass on your best wishes. She has been coping well, when she feels ready she will consider a prosthetic, her two girls keep her spirits up some of the things they say have her crying with laughter. When using wheelchair youngest calls here comes Ironside, take more than uppity doctor to keep her down.
  9. Thank you Jill, i needed to vent and felt family didnt need to listen. I will contact the NHS complain in strongest terms them tell them to stick their socks were the sun don't shine already ordered them.
  10. This is not my pain but my daughters, a childs pain is a mothers. Her leg was amputated above the knee last December 21st due to a long time knee problem, We were at the limb center today and they told her that as she didn't want a prosthetic fitted she was not entitled to any further help, nor is she entitled to a compression sock which is needed to shrink her limb. I made my feeling clear that it is her choice at this time not to have a prosthetic maybe at a later date, fine they said come back then and she will get help.   14. Jill you are easily recognisable, a sign of good genes. Your school uniform shirt much nicer than mine, button up to the neck, tie had to have right size knot or detention. I also notice you were allowed a choice of footwear, same shoes in winter same sandals in summer. Look at students of today a different world.
  15. Found a box of old photos but quite a lot have been damaged by damp. Is there anyway way that i can improve them myself or will i have to use a specialist. When i say old some of my mum as a baby 1917.

  17. #27 when I left school to go onto university one of my teachers said that I would not progress as a teacher. never said why but it was said with assurance. Six years later she was introduced to the new history teacher ME. the expression on her face was priceless. There were other teachers still there from when I was a pupil they all said it was their teaching that made me a good teacher.

  21. Jill, slightly off topic but I was reading an article about West Bridgeford Community College. The girls are having their skirts measured by kneeling on a chair !! Bet they are not wearing flannel knickers.

Visits to my grandparents always meant fresh baked cakes and scones for tea, if we happened to go at dinner time there would be homemade pie or full dinner with Yorkshire puddings usually the size of a tea plate. My grandfathers family were mainly miners very down to earth being an only child sometimes felt very overwhelmed at the amount of relatives i had. Never met my grandmothers family as they said she married beneath her, she was expected to marry a man in "business" same as her father.
