There’s a new series starts tonight on BBC 2 8pm called “Back in Time For Dinner”. It takes a family back to the 50’s tonight to experience life and cooking including a diet of dried eggs, dripping and liver prepared in a very basic kitchen.

I think there must have been a photographer with a contract to go round all the schools taking group photos.

In Blondie's post she has mentioned Friends United and there are numerous school photos on there. I posted 2 from my Infant/Junior school that were taken by a pro.

Anyone remember the interludes between programmes etc like "The Potter's Wheel"

Those top pocket handkerchiefs that were just a small piece of cloth fastened to a piece of cardboard. Expandable arm bands to hold a shirt sleeve back when they were too long. Detachable shirt collars with collar studs to fasten them to the shirt. And I've not seen in years cuff links but they may still exist.

Something I've not see for many years are turn-ups on trousers.

There's been a 20 mph limit on the road I live but it makes no difference as cars still speed down it. There's nobody to enforce the limit and I think it'a an utter waste of money and bumps would be better and maybe even cheaper.

I wonder how many of these 'celebs' actually use the product or service they advertise/promote?

Does anyone remember in either Woolworths or British Home Stores a man standing next to some weighing scales shouting out 'try your weight' or something similiar?

99.9% of adverts with "celebrities" in them.

TBI I'm sure I remember that Virgin Megastore was W H Smiths at one time - can't recall when though.

I have a map of Nottingham from the 1960’s. It’s a “Geographia Large Scale Detailed Street Map” and is 4 1/2ins to a mile. It cost me 5/- when I bought it. It’s seen better days and is kept together with sellotape.
