  1. With today's generation, it's possible!!
  2. I might be wrong, but years ago, could you drive a fire engine on a car licence?. I think someone told me this a long time back, as fire engines wernt classed as HGV. I know that now that they do!
  3. Every time I try to do the trial and error thing, i end up more confused. But that maybe because I only use my tablet. Perhaps i should start "taking tablets" !!
  4. My ex wife told me that she had never had an accident, but knowing how she used to drive, I'd say she had seem plenty in her rear view mirror.
  5. Thanks Margie, i have also learnt something about using the site, and a few other members have probably benefited from your online coaching.
  6. I think I've said it before but, the cars of today don't represent the speed limits set 50years ago.or perhaps i meant to say, the speed limits set today do not represent the cars of today! Hope you understand what I mean!!
  7. Got to agree with that Ian, use them alot for my stuff. Mind you, the wagons have come on a bit.
  8. I have always supported the case that, it's inappropriate use of speed that kills, not speed itself!!
  9. Ah, forgot about them, thought they came out later, mine was a 79 5.3 blew the head gasket, what a nightmare to put right.
  10. You must have been one of the lucky ones, they didn't make many manual one's as the gearbox couldn't take the strain of the 5.3 v12.When I say lucky, i mean cos they were rare.
  11. Just as well, cos the bits outside aint!
  12. So I suppose he took it off agen, he he
  13. Ok, apologies folks for being a bit slow/stupid, but not knowing how to start/ask a question i thought perhaps go to a popular post and try my luck. Simple question, why do members want to be anonymous?. When after they reply, we know who they are !!
  14. Yep, I was going with Hillman Hunter. oops one too many Ls.
  15. Go on Ian, what's that mota in front of the 'moggy '?
  16. Don't see,Curly Wurlys. Rebuilt the top 50ft of 'Cadbury s at Framton on Severn and incorporated some of those in the rebuild.
  17. We lived at Heacham, just a few miles from the 'scene ' and driven down that road uncountable times. There was no reason for a accident if the driver was competent, just let the chauffeur drive instead of pretending to be able when clearly he is not. Do we think that he will bye the poor women a new car as a token gesture, if only to save the increase on her insurance? I think not!!Luckily
  18. Whoops, maybe wrong thread!!
  19. Lady tells the police that the guy was on his phone and eating at the same time. The policeman told her that he was perfectly entitled to do what he wants in his own conservatory.
  20. Nice one Ian, but laddering with skid ladders(16ft) usually used up North, is totally different to laddering with 10ft ladders. When I instructed at the C.I.T.B. i did invite Fred to the place to show him other techniques, he declined. On a steel stack, i would get up it quicker with 10ft(termed, Yorkshire ladders) than someone using 16ft(termed Lancashire ladders). Fred wasn't anyone specs ,just a a guy that was in the right place at the right time.
  21. Staythorpe chimneys were a bugger to ladder, you had to splice the ladders three times because the guys that built it had put the L B1s at the wrong spacing. Approx 1 million bricks per stack, and 425ft tall.
  22. At least you can whistle and brush your teeth at the same time!
  23. I did the same with all my photos when I were young, but i think the police might still have a couple!!
  24. I would say that everyone is more informed than the British!!
