DJ360 6,760
Always remember The Day The Music Died, because it was my 10th birthday. So today, 64 years on, a little tribute to the great Buddy. The amount of unforgettable music he created in just 2-3 years still astounds me and I always wonder what he would have continued to give. philmayfield 6,275
That’s the stuff we played when I was in band. Just shows how old I am! I’ve still got my old Hofner Congress guitar which I electrified but I upgraded to a cherry red Stratocaster, like Hank Marvin’s, in later years. Since my ‘horticultural amputation’ I can play neither.

benjamin1945 16,282
Used to love a bit of Dave Brubeck....... benjamin1945 16,282
Always enjoyed the late Anthony Newley......from about 1960 when he played Gurney Slade and about the same year sang this song........ I Had an Uncle named 'Dick' Who looked and sang rather like him...he was a Miner at Calverton and often sang at the Miners Welfare there......another Uncle also down the Pit at Calverton also sang songs there..especially remember him singing Bernard Breslaw's hit song ''Charlie Brown'' that was my Uncle Harold.....lovely funny man.....
Jill Sparrow 10,398
Always thought Anthony Newley had a really odd voice. Very 'reedy'. Don't know whether that affected his record sales.
IAN FINN 829
I liked Anthony Newley saw him at a venue in Chesterfield around 1960 also watched Gurney Slade it was a bit off centre but liked it.
benjamin1945 16,282
A very memorable 'Instrumental'' from way back in 1960.........must have danced to this down ''Locarno''
philmayfield 6,275
I could rattle that out on the guitar back in my playing days. If only I hadn’t chopped a finger off in a horticultural incident I’d go and pick up my Stratocaster now and give it a whirl!
IAN FINN 829
Try it phil you never know your luck.

Willow wilson 898
Walk don't run and Apache. Required items for the Saturday-afternoon-front-room-unplugged-band (sans drums). Happy days. Looking at that video above, seems it could have been filmed at the national gum chewing championship. Oi.
