taxi ray 170
#581 I wonder if the photo shows the bus on delivery, at the boys club. Driver doesn't have uniform on.
Merthyr Imp 729
Not the best quality, but this photo shows the former no. 702 in use with Nottingham University Students Union.
BulwellBrian 107
Route 35 which ran from Bulwell Market to the Northern Cemetery on Hempshill Lane was operated by a single decker until the overbridge for the Bennerley railway was removed. The 35 operated on Saturday & Sunday afternoons.

Bilbraborn 1,594
When the new rear engine buses came out (Atlanteans and Fleetlines) all those years ago, we were all excited to ride on them. Wish the old ones could return.

BulwellBrian 107
Re #604, I thought the 41 went up London Road not Arkwright Street. Am I remembering wrongly?
Cliff Ton 10,467
In the 1940s, it doesn't seem to have done either. Did the routes change in later years ? http://nottstalgia.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7151
TBI 2,351
I stand to be corrected, but don't recall the no. 41 going from Trent Bridge, wasn't it from town? The 43 went up Arky and the 45 up London Rd.
DaveN 1,118
Here's a link to a site with photos of old Nottingham trolley buses. http://www.old-bus-photos.co.uk/wp-content/themes/Old-Bus-Photos/galleries/nottingham_trolleybuses_the_last_years/nottingham_trolleybuses_the_last_years.php
TBI 2,351
Yes, a good site that. The 41 did go from Trent Bridge then.
DaveN 1,118
Didn't the 41 go from Cinderhill to Trent Bridge? I vaguely remember using it when I worked on Nottingham Road, New Basford in the 60's.
TBI 2,351
I can't work this one out Dave. I lived at Trent Bridge and can't remember the 41 going from there. We used that route to visit an aunt at Cinderhill sometimes, but had an idea we got the 41 from town. There are pictures of the 41 with Trent Bridge signboards but the system map for the time shows the terminus in town. I'm sure someone will know definitely though. Apologies if this has been posted before, but this site shows the map and has some great pictures too. http://www.trolleybus.net/normal.htm
