I'll go miles out of my way to help animals and birds; I re-home spiders when they get stuck in the bath.
But I hate magpies. I've seen them raiding nests of other birds, flying off with eggs in their beaks.
On a couple of occasions I've seen them with baby birds in their (magpie's) beaks. On both occasions I managed to be a good Samaritan and caused the magpie to fly off, releasing its captive.
My son did some filming here the other day at the grand reopening for a client. (He’s a professional videographer).
He was quite impressed and it’s apparently nice as a tourist attraction.
I have been a frequent visitor there for over 60 years. Taken on there by my mum in a pushchair, as a toddler and later walks around with my wife, son and a nice place to go with my grandchildren. A lifetime of visits. The grounds can now only be entered at the full entrance fee, no facility to just enter the grounds for a walk.
Poor old Arthur Seaton will have to find a different venue to take Bren
While on this topic, Ive had a painful few days. For some time now I've had a niggly feeling in my teeth and gums. Nothing to say it was toothache or infection but finally went to my brother in law who's a dentist. It was an infection caused by a capped tooth. Anyway partly solved but still needs more treatment next week. Then my oncologist rang to give me an appointment ( with results of my latest exams) this afternoon. Again yesterday the Dr from CTO in Turin where i had my op 2019. He asked me a few questions about how I found myself now and if I had any pain etc. I should have gone last y
Thanks Catfan... I get this knot in my stomach when my imagination goes into overdrive, but then I think "I can't do owt about it, so I've just got to let the doctors do what they have to do." I'd like to thank you & everyone who's commented for their moral support....
Colly don't worry about falling asleep , it happens to us all and I notice it more now than a few months ago. Radiology does make you tired, I remember when I had it the patients would talk between themselves about how tired they got. I used to think its not happening to me , is something wrong then it got me and I joined the ranks. It does pass but I've had no experience with hormone tabs. All the best.
Easy day today so started by the usual 30 min bike / 30 min rower. Learnt not to train on heavy work days. Just tidied up the site and formed a concrete run off from the paviors - just a couple of shovels of mix so no big effort. Still had my beer though
Good one DJ360
The Kinks, part of the sounds of the sixties. Waterloo Sunset has become a classic. Strangely enough never made number 1 but fittingly used in the closing of the London Olympics
