  1. Moor Farm was still a farm up to the late 60's. It then was converted into 'Moor Farm Inn'. It was renamed 'Bramcote Manor' which was a little confusing as the Bramcote Manor house is in the old village. The last name change was to 'Tuck's Habit' until it closed. The whole site has been cleared and a new Meeting Room (Church) occupies the site.
  2. There was a 'tramway' from Codlings Yard, Sidings Lane (now J McCann) SSW to the Crematorium site which was a sand pit. The tramway is shown on 1956 OS maps. Bramcote sand was mainly used in the foundry industries for castings.

  4. It is definitely a Dutch registration, issued between 1978 and 1981. The Dutch system does not include a region of issue.

For example, when seat-belts were introduce as a mandatory requirement their fitting could not be retrospective as, whilst the belts could be fitted, there could not be any destructive testing to ensure the belt pick-up points would perform. 11. M Ross Browne would appear to be a single person, not a partneship between 2 or more, certainly associated with early Nottingham motoring. http://www.gracesguide.co.uk/1900_Nottingham_and_District_Automobile_Club
  12. The stoms played havoc with flight-plans on Monday evening, planes were held away awaiting the storms to subside.
  13. From my experience, do not eat/drink near popular tourist attractions, a coffee near the Trevi fountain will cost about €15, move away and it will cost €5. Also, always pick up a receipt for purchases and keep for 45 minutes, not to do so is seen as aiding the shopkeeper to avoid VAT.
  14. I wonder if it had anything to do with the Water Works opposite?

  16. A 'nut' has one nut in a kernel, a peanut has more than one nut in a kernel so it is not 'a nut', - so the experts say. The experts also say that 'a banana is a nut'. Nuts if you ask me
