  1. It makes you feel old when the toys you played with as a child are in a museum and often referred to as ANTIQUES.
  2. Good news soon be back to your best all in time for Christmas. Make sure you keep on Mrs C's good side so easy to say ooops i think I left the brake off as you go careering down a hill.
  3. What a lot of us got Bayko sets at christmas, my cousin was also given some but didn't want it. I ended up with enough to build a small village, as an only child it gave me scope to use my imagination and pretend i lived there.
  4. Is it good or bad that i know what it is, go up in smoke after christmas.
  5. Willow, do you mean Black Imps, you could hide the tin in your pocket and sneak one in while in class.
  6. I'm very boring I have only three keys one for front door/back gate/back door.
  7. Hubby rarely uses words or phrases from Nottingham he's been here 40 years plus, duck slips out occasionally but the one that causes the most laughter is going to "are arase" not sure about the spelling.
  8. I now know what happened, dad picked me up rushed upstairs saying Santa's gone to toilet so mums helping him out so he won't be late. Worked at the time, now of course it wouldn't work as the bathroom was next to my bedroom. Lovely memories.
  9. Milly Molly Mandy anyone else remember her.
  10. Nowhere better than your own bed.
  11. I read an article today about a sixth former sent home for inapropriate clothing, teacher (male) did not say why it was inapropriate. It brought to mind when my grandaughter was at school skirts had to be below the knee and could be measured at any time. I dropped her off to walk to school with her friends and watched them all roll their skirts over till short. Evidently this was done going to school and again when going home stopped then getting into trouble wonder, if its still done today.
  12. Love this thread brings back so many memories, the little post office set with envelopes/stamps/coins and the stamping pad cut out paper dolls to many to mention. Keep them coming girls i'm sure we must have lots more.
  13. I remember a christmas when i was 6/7 coming downstairs on christmas eve to see my mum filling a pillowcase, all i can remember is sitting on the stairs crying. I must ask mum if she remembers and what she said to shut me up, her long term memory is very good so i may find out.
  14. That's great to hear you'r back on the mend keep up the good work, soon be your usual charming self and looking after MrsC as she's looked after you,
  15. Margie...I am in complete agreement with you straight to the point and 100% right.
  16. Thanks NBL for the last two days I have been trying out your advice, we are still at the farm and the last two days there has been shooting in nearby woods. Obviously he will need more training but he does not react by jumping and trying to run he still reacts but not in the same way. We are bringing him to the farm on a weekly basis until problem is cured. I have also posted your advice on a website that we puppy walkers use to exchange tips. Gem
  17. It's not for me either but I respect her right to look as she pleases, after all she is the one that looks in the mirror.
  18. Nothing is wrong with them it is their choice on how they wish to look, if people don't like it then don't look. One of these girlies may not like beards or bald men so will avoid them. As has been said before be boring world if we all liked/looked the same and no I don't have a tattoo.
  19. Spent last ten years of my teaching career as a special needs teacher and by far the best years. Jill was right in saying so many do not want to learn but a child with special needs wants to learn. What ever their age and needs thay all want to learn, there is nothing better than sitting with a child reading a book minutes after they wanted to kick or bite you. I still see my pupils and their parents, so lovely when they remember you and still ask for a cuddle.
  20. Its ok Rog wer'e all past knocking people off scooters, we have spoken to our local PSO but he can't always be in the right place. When we contacted council we gave them a number which was on his scooter! , he is plain and simple a nasty foul mouthed old man. Unfotunately nobody knows who he is but must live near unless he spends his days driving around Gateshead annoying strangers.
  21. Mobility scooters are not a menace it's the idiots that use them. The road in front of my house is narrow (house built 1860s) just enough for 2 large venicles to pass, every day without fail a bloody idiot comes down middle of road and will move for no one. He says he's got as much right as anyone go down the road it has got so bad we have contacted council to see if he can be educated on road safety, either that or one of us will knock him of his scooter. Not really.

Couldn't put a notification on your post, that is a horrible thing to do to a defenceless little animal. Makes you wonder what kind of home they come from obviously have no morals, no wonder this country is going to hell in a hand basket.
  23. Make them pay insurance, they would drive more carefully if there were consequences for their actions.
  24. NBL a bloomin big ooops, tried again earlier today same result "well it would be" .Hubby asked who told you that said someone on NS comes from Basford, well if he's from Basford knows what he's on about. Ben was trained from the start to sit and stay and he is perfect other things a total nightmare, taking him around farm to see his reaction to animals he has never seen so if he's startled this time i know what to do. Hubby like yourself was a Basford lad born and bred till he took off "up north" thanks for help and information.
