  2. Osbornes Park lane old basford,as a boy,Groome and Criterion Bulwell,as a teenager,then all over the country for 20 years,then Don and Johns Basford for 25 years.

I GENERALLY 'cosset' my lovely wife,buy flowers and chocs from time to time,spoil her on a daily basis,tell her i love her most days,take her out for meal now and then,tolerate her Dad (love her mam) even like her ex husband,just booked us an holiday,i'm almost too good to be true,..............then she announces she wants 'Wooing' is she being unreasonable? how do you handle problems like this ?

I BUY the 'Sun' perhaps twice a week,bought it today and low and behold page 3 is the same,they got some good publicity did'nt they.don't care wether they have 'Topless' girls or not,i buy it for a quick read when i don't have time to read owt more serious.Anyway its the only paper where i can complete the crossword. lol.

Firbeck,.......as you know i'm not into Trains and that (well perhaps just a little) but i thought about you recently,when i had reason to be in the old Stanton ironworks,my daughter spends 2 days a week working there,a few of the old buildings are still in use and you can imagine what a hive of activity it must have been when Trains were in and out and thousands of people spent their lives working there. Sorry you can't upload at the moment, lol.

  16. I DON'T REMEMBER owt to do with numbers,mobile ive had 10 yrs don't have clue let alone landline,post code no,car number no chance,bank card no,and it always amazes me that people remember their NI number.
  17. #23 Ashley. We always knew it as 'Northern bridge' and the station as 'Basford and Bulwell',........often went into Nottingham on the train from there 1penny long route thru Daybrook and a halfpenny on the short route thru 'New Basford.

  19. Dad never had one,neither did anyone else on our street,in fact if one came down the street when we were playing football or cricket we threw stones at it.lol.

  21. Some of the lads had bad parents,i knew a couple from when i was a teenager and felt really sorry for em,they were sent to Borstal for misdameaners that would hardly be punished at all nowadays, People go on about bad parents today but they existed back in the 50s and 60s as well.
