    Cowboys?

    Or maybe " Blazing Saddles".
  3. Hiya LL., when she told me that I was devastated! I thought, " bloody hell !" She's getting twice as much as me. Don't think her dad was too impressed with a lathe jockey. Story of my life.
  4. I was once courting a girl when I was about 17. She lived on Arleston drive, Wollaton. I worked at Raleigh at the time and remember once saying to her that I'd be happy when I reached 21, as I would be on full money then, about £14/15 a week. " Really", she said. " I get that now for pocket money". She was 16 and I think her dad was a dentist. Needless to say, we didn't stay together for long !
  5. Wots wrong wi' Sanderson's pie and chips ?
  6. Some of the buggers just use it as an excuse to grab a new telly or whatever !
  7. Do you mean " keep one, drop one" CT?
  8. AG., ' daft parameters ' can you get them on prescription?
  9. Coulda done egg and chips, woulda been a lot cheaper. Can always spice it up with curried beans.
  10. Tell wot AG., hand sanitizer make a bloody good bbq charcoal starter !
  11. It's being so cheerful that keeps you going eh AG.
  12. As you know better than most CT., we all have that unique NS tendency to stray from the original track before coming back to what was first started. Which makes for amusing interest. As well as discovering items of interest and humour. Personally, I love the banter which often goes on, though some people do take exception to this and moan that it's not what NS is for.
  13. Have a word with Compo LL., he'll give some tips on how to ease pain. But it does involve a tub of Ben & Jerry's.
  14. Speaking for myself, I am really peed off with it all. We've been stuck in for 82 days now and getting to the stage where we no longer want to go out. It won't be long before we are all acclimatise to the fact that we will be afraid to mix with our fellow man. I've driven the incredible amount of 14 miles since the beginning of March. Wonder if we'll get a refund on our road tax? I realise I've only attended 2 meet ups but it would be nice to come back up to Nottingham again, apart from delivering delivering the milk churn, to say hello to NS's. Not been to the shops since February, and a
  15. Phil., does that mean you want us to stay where we are? Dahn Sarf.
  16. I worked with a John Mee at SPD, on Glaisdale drive. He came as a warehouseman for a number of years.
  17. And another thing.....Whatever happened to ' Nibbits ' ? Used to love em. Long squiggly things with a unique taste all of their own. Nearest thing I've seen to them the deep fried noodles you get with chow mein. Flat hard ribbons that when dropped in hot oil they swell up after a few seconds.
  18. When we stay in Wroxham, I go over the bridge to Maccy Ds but only for coffee and so I can use their free wifi.
  19. Thank you for that insight MD., much appreciated. I have attended the service at the Menin gate. We once went to Ypres for Christmas and stayed in the Novotel just down the road from there. Went on three consecutive nights.
  20. Veering off track a wee bit, but still at Bolsover. The tipper lorry I used to drive back in the late 60s, the driver who drove it before me went right up the A632 toward Bolsover with his back end in full tip. He hit a railway bridge that used to cross over the road, (so my uncle and dad told me). He'd tipped his load somewhere and didn't lower properly, consequently, as he was driving the back went up ! Must have been half asleep.
  21. I bow to your superior knowledge Phil. Could have sworn that's where we signed up. Don't remember ever joining E.H. But I that's where we were told of the shallow graves...Your servant sir.
  22. Talking of shallow graves (which we weren't). We visited Bolsover castle many moons ago where we first joined the National Trust. One of the guides told us of a couple of the paths had lots of bodies buried in rows, all victims of the plague. She told us, they had to be buried quickly, hence they were only about 18" to 24" deep.
  23. Went to Tyne Cott a couple of times and been to Ypres' Menin gate three times ( staying just round the corner).
  24. MD., when you say you ' do tours', do you mean you run them or attend organised tours? Also, is it home or abroad?.
