Michael Booth 7,364
My surgeon was the spitting image of Robert Kilroy-Silk. I see that the trade unions have cut their donation to the Labour Party by one and a half million pounds. Not to worry though, Tony Blair is stepping in to give them financial help. Blair is reported to have a personal fortune of over £75million and, bearing in mind he was a skint law student, it makes you wonder where all his money came from. Bilbraborn 1,594
I see that the EU are starting to interfere with the Ukraine business. Telling the Russians to stop compromising sovereignty of another country???!!!
mick2me 3,033
75 Million, it must be a worry for Tony B'Liar to work out how he is going to spend it all before he snuffs it. An ex politician is richer than the the country. EU messing with the Ruskies! Dangerous stuff... WW3?
tomlinson 879
Could well be WW3 on the way. We're depleting our armed services.
FLY2 10,109
How in Gods name has Bliar amassed a vast fortune of 75m. An MP's and subsequently PM''s salary could never reap that amount of cash. Dirty dealing, backhanders, insider knowledge and downright criminality spring to mind. Oh it's his book that's it, that's where it all came from. Bo77ocks !!!!!!!
Commo 1,292
B'Liar has been supplementing his meagre pension from the income he receives from his part time Saturday morning job as the Middle East Peace Envoy (!!!!!!!) and by touring the World giving lectures. It beggars belief that there are organisations with enough money to waste by inviting him; that there are people around who actually want to listen to him; that what he has to say has any credence in view of his CV, and don't forget his lovely wife who seems to be able to earn a crust or two in her own right. Having said that, I admit to never having heard him speak so perhaps have no right to criticise.
mick2me 3,033
Perhaps Nelson Mandela gave him a few millions?
FLY2 10,109
Yes, funny how so many of these New Socialists forego their early beliefs when in power. We know the Tories want to keep us oppressed and downtrodden, but these wolves in sheeps clothing are even worse. They insist they do things for the good of the populace, but it's total bull5hit. Once they've got their noses in the trough they're uncontrollable. Sod the working man then isn't it.
Beduth 202
This is what I'm finding difficult to get my head around ! We do not think it's right for a regional government ( Crimea ), to hold an independence referendum without involving the rest of Ukraine but we do think it's right for Scotland regional government to hold an independence referendum without involving the rest of the UK. This observation is totally separate from my judgement of the Russian intervention.
Michael Booth 7,364
WHAT'S THE POINT? A 46 year old man was in Court yesterday for benefit fraud. He'd received over £13,400 in Disability Living Allowance because he couldn't walk very far. They did a check on him and filmed him walking freely, regularly playing football and working for his relation who had a gas fitting business. When he was found guilty you'd think he'd get a punishment that would deter others. Don't be daft, he got a 3 month suspended sentence and an £80 statutory surcharge. What's the point in taking them to Court in the first place.

Oztalgian 3,326
A well known fizzy sugary water company in Adelaide has just closed its bottling plant. Those that do the number crunching say that the plant had no room for expansion and the facilities were old and there were expensive logistics problems. What does this mean? All of these beverages 99.9% water some 19 million cases per year will now be shipped by truck from either :- Brisbane 2,000 km away Perth 2,700 km away What about the environment and food miles, no matter, the bean counters say it will save $20 million annually from 2020 and the site on the edge of the Adelaide CBD will likely be sold for housing. We seem to be hell bent on destroying Spaceship Earth one way or another. 1
