MRS B 560
Oz, I can only speak for the Tap and Run at Upper Broughton, amazing food and service, not cheap but lovely for a special occasion. Owned by Stuart Broad and Harry Gurney who also have the Griffin at Swithland which they are renovating. Bit nearer home for me but same food. Must try the Unicorn and the Martins Arms, my old stomping ground.

philmayfield 6,240
I have the concrete base of an old greenhouse next to my sheds (yes I have two). I’ve been contemplating for a long time of erecting a shed which I could turn into a cosy saloon bar with padded benches and a roaring log fire. No longer would I have to go down to the local and mix with the people of the village. It’s just a pipe dream at the moment but I am interviewing for barmaids.

I have had a sleeping bag and gas cooker in my shed for years, I find it a great hiding place when chores need to be done. In fact I find it very relaxing in there, I cannot wait till summer so I can spend more time in there , I did consider putting a window in there but some one would be able to see into it and find me, I feel safe in there as I lock it from the inside.

Beekay 5,236
I remember seeing a truck called 'The Lincolnshire Poacher', can't remember the firms name but their trucks were ALL Lincolnshire somethings.

Mind you, if you held a cocktail party in your shed I’d accept the invitation! Now there's a surprise Phil for not being invited! Perhaps you wore a cravat instead of the required dickie bow. philmayfield 6,240
It’s a long time since I had a cravat and I was blackballed for having a clip-on dickie bow.

philmayfield 6,240
I’m pleased to say that the lake has finally gone from the end of the field. I’ve just been down on the quad to inspect it. It’s a brown patch but not muddy. The first plants springing up are buttercups but it looks like it’s going to recover and there should be another crop of hay in the summer. There’s no ‘open gardens’ in the village this year so we won’t have naturists viewing the wild flowers. Should that be naturalists?
