Suppose it would require a couple of stops en route, to recharge. Thereby adding another day to ones journey.

More stops, and more Costa coffee consumed while you're waiting !

It seems a rather expensive way of getting a caffeine fix !

Stupefyingly boring waiting around for an hour and a half to get you to the next service station. And that's always assuming that you're on a motorway.

200 odd miles. Well that gets you to Tebay Services or Cullompton I suppose.

Fix, fix...!!. There's nothing better than sitting stationary on the M5 on a hot day, inhaling diesel fumes !

It might be OK for a daily commute into work and back but the other uses like outings and holidays where detailed planning to find a charger is required is unrealistic. When you get to the charger point there will inevitably be a queue. Then there’s the higher cost, although people do tend to lease cars these days. Maybe municipal vehicle use will be appropriate because of their local and intermittent nature, retuning to base each day.

It's raining here.  And it's 12 degrees.  I've had better weather in January.

I've not been very productive for the last few weeks, but today I am going to re-fit the skirting board around where I removed the old internal pipe boxing in the dining room and had the corner re-plastered. This is not straightforward, because I'm 'working to' existing, which I have to match to, and I've also got two internal and one external corner in the space of a few inches.

Once done it's then relatively straightforward to repaint the dining room.  It was only done last year, but I've had a horrible old artex finish on the ceiling plastered over, which left a bare ceiling and lots of splashes on the walls.

Still, could be worse.  I could have the tedium of walking on sand to find a sun lounger, or sitting in some taverna listening to incessant bouzouki music.

Lucky escape....

We have friends from Radcliffe on Trent here for a few days before they go off on their travels. Today we are going to that big ditch up the road, a.k.a the Grand Canyon. Haven't been in years, you don't when it's on your doorstep, so hopefully they haven't filled it in.

Did my last vigilating in an exam this morning, Handed in my badge with green coloured cord (started off yellow - can’t be alone with kids need escorting round building to blue - can do scribing one to one but have to be escorted round building to green - can do scribing and don’t have to be escorted badge opens doors). I was a bit nervous the first time I did the scribing, but I have enjoyed it despite the boring bits watching a room full of young people writing for 2 hours. I have had one pupil one to one for all his exams which was nice, I think we had a good rapport and it seemed to help him relax more after the first one.

Quite sad to have finished but things can get back to “normal” now whatever that is. My boys might stop sulking now I am not in and out so much. I would do it again at the same school, just got to wait now to get paid. Primark/garden centres here I come!

Mmmmmm!  How has this happened?  I can’t believe I’ve been driving for 50 years and still avoid ‘parallel parking’ if I can help it
