Gem, I don't know how you have the patience and manual dexterity to make all this tiny stuff! Is the bucket made from a thimble?
-
I don't mind which mainstream church I go to - most of them have different aspects that I enjoy and can appreciate. But there are 3 churches in our village and I can't be in more than one place at once on a Sunday! Fortunately the churches do lots of stuff together and I've got friends in all of them.

Great photo Lizzie - no stopping you now!

FLY, the Anglican Church uses alcoholic wine but the Methodist and Baptist Churches I've been to only use non alcoholic.

I've got a cactus like that but it doesn't flower at Christmas - it's usually nearer Easter. I broke off four pieces earlier in the year and repotted them- they are all thriving on the windowsill. They drink a lot of water surprisingly - I do it about every 2 or 3 days.

Lizzie, a lovely photo of Jack

Is postimage playing up now? I've just looked at one of my posts in 'our pets' on 4 July this year and there's a big blue square telling me my message has been removed (it was a photo of one of our cats). The first photo is still there, but the following one has gone.

Anyone in this situation?

Hope you'll have a good day, Sue xx

I get that suggestion, but it's not just the floor surface that's spinning in the case of the Earth - it's the building as well. Everything is spinning! (Like my head!)
-
Still don't get it! The whole earth including the atmosphere moves round, doesn't it?
-
I don't get this! The whole building is moving/rotating, not just the floor, so why does the situation described above happen..

A treasure trove of old railway pictures

I don't usually watch train videos, but I did watch this one and could almost smell the smoke! -
Same as me, Lizzie.... I don't really enjoy cooking. I remember the basket we carried our cookery stuff in but I also remember it's being raided once by a couple of the lads when we'd made bread rolls. I remember one week we had to dress a crab!! That lesson must have been trying to prepare us for a very different life than I lead!

She's a bit strange, though... sometimes she is all over us, too pushy in fact, and other times she doesn't want to know and shrinks away when I try to stroke her. Her son, Zippy, is huge but a bit of wuss.... he even gets scared when someone sneezes! Odd cats we've got!

Works for me on on my iPad using 'Direct link' This is Button btw. She is the mother of our other cat, Zippy
-
Catfan, I can't right click with my finger, only when I'm using a mouse!
-
loppy, on the iPad I had the same trouble, so I now use the second box down (direct link) Later, , it gives the option of just displaying the link, not the whole picture, but I usually just show the picture!

Cheeky! One has to play 'hard to get' sometimes - it's expected.. -
Why are they more expensive for trikes, Rog?
-
Rog, are you sure some of these spanners aren't the same? And aren't there special spanners you can buy that adjust to whatever sized nut needs unscrewing or tweaking?

You'll be OK in 3 or 4 years then, FLY. I'll leave you to work out which of the options above will apply to you x

I know I've written about this somewhere else on here, but I remember feeling I had to get downstairs before the upstairs toilet had finished flushing! Just like the bedroom light switch I mentioned earlier, I used to get in position for a quick getaway as I held the chain, then, after pulling it, raced off across the landing and down the stairs, jumping the last 3 or 4 at the bottom. I felt something was reaching after me as I left the bathroom.. I can't find out if I'd still feel the same now as a) we now live in a bungalow b) the toilet doesn't have a chain, only a press bu

I remember as a child, getting myself ready to rush over and leap into my bed after I'd switched of the light, before something reached out from under the bed to grab my ankles. I know it's illogical but I STILL sort of think there may be something under the bed waiting to grab my ankle! I don't run and leap into bed anymore, though. Not sure if that's because I have better mind control or because it's getting harder to run and leap!!

Alcohol is a drug and possibly causes more related suffering and death than other drugs - but it is considered socially acceptable..
