Cliff Ton 10,473
Help !!!! i can pst pictures but they are smaller than a potage stamp and usually illegible That's probably because they are small to begin with. Are you taking thumbnails from websites? You need bigger image sizes than that to post on here. i cant sseem to get that photo storage / editing site you recomend to work right. Is this Photobucket? Is the problem that you can't get images from there in to Nottstalgia? also i there a limit to the number of photos i can post. There is no limit to the number of images you can post - unless you go really mad.

fch782c 144
here's a question for someone clever out there, I have an old dvd that my dad sent me he's had all the cine 8 film from my childhood transferred to dvd the size of the dvd is DVD-R 2.0/1X-4X I would like to copy the DVD for my grandchildren but not knowing a great deal about this sort of thing I'm stuck. I have searched on fleabay but cant find anything remotely compatible any suggestions would be appreciated Thanks Paul
Ayupmeducks 1,730
Do it with Nero. You copy the DVD to your computer, then when all files are copied, select "burn DVD" and follow the instructions in Nero, after you've put a blank DVD in your computers DVD player/burner. fch782c 144
Thanks for that is there a particular size DVD-R I should use
Ayupmeducks 1,730
Make sure it's for video quality recordings, and just make sure the DVD's are large enough for your video, the only way you can find that out is to put it in the slot and check the file size... I have a stack of 4.7gb DVD's to burn movies onto..... Lots of HD movies are way too large for "standard" DVD's, so bought these large file sized DVDs just for them. I doubt you will need DVD's that large though. I think the next size down is 1.5gb.
DAVIDW 1,684
Another way to make a copy is to use a memory stick (now that they are coming down in price ). You can now get an 8gb stick for about £3 . http://www.ebuyer.com/399080-lexar-8gb-jumpdrive-v10-usb-flash-drive-ljdv10-8gbabeu Then all you would need to do would be to insert the DVD you wish to copy into the disk drive of your computer . Find the disc in My Computer , copy the film files and paste them onto the memory stick that is plugged into a spare USB slot . Send to the relos and then they can view the movie through their computer or burn their own DVD . Most newer TVs can view files on a memory stick via a cheap reader plugged into the HDMI slot . Ayupmeducks 1,730
An external hard drive is another option, BUT, drives are well known for failing, once they fail, the data is lost, can be revovered by a specialist company, but at a very high price tag. Pro photographers use at least three different sources of backups for their work, one always includes a DVD kept in a safe dry dark place. I've said this before, keep DVD's and CD's away from UV light, UV does corrupt the data on those. I know an IT feller who learned that the hard way and lost some valuable files.. carni 10,094
#57 Commo, Yup it worked. I was trying out Poohbears instructions that were on another thread, it looked a very simple way to add photo's, so I put our Robin on as a test.
darkazana 1,736
Seem to be having a problem posting photo's. Got them on photobucket, and can get the link but when I bring up the image link here it will let me paste the link but freezes and won't let me post it. Any ideas please? Have a problem with quotes too. When I click on quote it doesn't bring it into my dialogue box.
Michael Booth 7,364
darkazana , you asked for some helpful advice so I've posted this for you which I hope will be of some help to you. Click onto Photobucket. Enter Username and Password. Click on 'sign in' (the one next to your password) New page opens. Click on 'Upload'. New page opens You'll see 'Drag N' Drop your Photos and Videos' and underneath this you will see 'Browse Files'. You will see a small wheel in the top right of this box. Click on it and choose the size of your photo.Click on 'Browse files' A new page opens with a 'File Upload' box Click on the place where your photo is. Search for your photo (name of) and double click on it to upload it. A new page appears with your photo and above it you will see a blue box 'View library' Click on this. A new page appears with all your photos on. Choose the one you want to put on Nottstalgia and underneath the photo is a box 'IMG code'. Click on 'IMG code' to turn it blue. Right click on the blue 'IMG code' to open new box and left click on 'Copy'. Find the page on Nottstalgia where you want to put your photo on. Left click in top left corner to get your marker and right click next to this to open new box. Click on 'Paste' A row (or two) of letters and numbers will appear. If you wish to make a comment on the photo then type your message directly above the top or under the bottom line of letters/numbers. Click on 'Post' and your photo will appear in the box. If you did a message, that will be above/below the photo.
siddha 825
Darkanza I have the exact same problem and have given up trying to put up pics or to follow something up with a quote from an earlier posting.
Ayupmeducks 1,730
You shouldn't have to left and right click in Photobucket, just left click on the IMG code, it flashes once to signify it's copied, then paste that code direct to you post.
Michael Booth 7,364
If you read my post again, Ayupmeducks, you will see that I've given full instructions from getting the photo onto Photobucket to putting it onto Nottstalgia.
darkazana 1,736
I have followed your instructions Michael, but the IMG code doesn't turn blue, it just flashes copied, but when I try to paste it nothing happens.I had no problems getting the picture onto photobucket, just getting it from there to Nottstalgia. I have been trying on and off all day, at the moment I am using my desk top but it is the same result with my laptop, so I don't think it is a problem with my computer either. If it's flashing yellow 'copied' on bucket you're halfway there...come to your reply page here...right click...then click 'paste' in the small box...Your IMG code SHOULD appear on page. Click 'post' or 'more reply options' and your picture will appear. (Then join 'Tinypics' it's a damn sight easier!)
