From the Nottinghamshire Archives, I have a booklet entitled Turning Back the Pages of Raleigh Cycles of Nottingham. The only things I can see with children in mind are a large tricycle and the Chopper. I really wouldn't call either one a toy.

I think Raleigh, as a manufacturer of adult cycles, were using the description 'toys' fairly loosely, referring to the small range of childrens' trikes and cycles etc. These were produced in large quantities. Don't forget the Chopper wasn't produced until the 70s, although they did a kid's Penny Farthing in the 60s.
