  5. Hi Carnie. So pleased you came across Tone and Julie again and had a chat. i didn't know they were afloat again, I only know if they post pics on FB. Thanks for the update, we were going to visit them next month while staying in Kent. But alas, another blooming trip cancelled. Sorry you took a tumble, I bet you are feeling it today.

  7. I agree with most of your comments PP, our 8 year old granddaughter came to stay for the weekend and we took her to the Castle. When I booked the tickets online on Thursday there were no slots left for the Cave Tour nor the Robin Hood Experience. This was disappointing because they are the kind of things that an 8 year old child would enjoy, rather than wandering through galleries. Never mind, we arrived at our allotted time, moved fairly quickly through the different galleries and did wonder where all the £30 million had been spent. I did enjoy the Paul Smith exhibition and would have sp

  8. Joan, welcome to Nottstalgia. MaryLMarlow who started this thread hasn't logged in here since April 2015 so it's unlikely she'll see your post. However, if you'd like to tell us about your time in the Old School House, there are a lot of people here who'd be interested to read your story.

  9. Hiya Katy jay. Feeling a bit more comfortable lately,so we have been off on our bike rides., early mornings though in case it gets to warm. Guess who was moored up by Autherly junction on the Staffs and Worc canal this morning, The very lovely 'Muchgigglin'. Tone was by the open door so we spent a little while having a chat, Julie was by the side hatch. It was good to see them both as we always look out for them on our rides, but never expect to see them. Looking forward to seeing Mr and Mrs BK, if you are ever sailing in our area, let us know and we will l

  11. Anyone watching the Olympics? I can't help feeling sorry for Japan investing all that money and no-one allowed to come and watch. There is always the TV or PPV/Streaming services The leader of the opposition has commandeered the TV and I have attempted to watch it but have now given up far too many adverts and talking heads and not enough sport. What is the coverage like in the UK? The stupid burghers of Brisbane have won the rights to bankrupt the city for the 2032 games. No one else was dumb enough to put in a bid. I hope that the experiences of this year finally puts an end

  13. Today good news and bad. The bad news is that this morning I got the results from the MRI I had a while ago in Turin. My husband collected them this morning and was home for 10 am. When I read the results I sensed something wasnt right so my Dr was called and fortunately got in at a minutes notice as he was going away on holiday this afternoon. As I sensed I have 3 slipped discs that is causing me pain in my hip. So came back home and went straight into the pool to swim. I havent done any for a long while so now Ive got to get my mind round things like walking and exercising as well as swimmi
