Well I am a miserable old s** , Bah Humbug with this Christmas lark it is not the same with out little ones about, so I am off to bed soon, I have a lot of housework and cooking tomorrow. So to all Nottstalgians a merry Christmas and a prosperous new Year.

Im trying to get in the Christmas mood but not having much success. Alex and I are eating lunch at my daughters tomorrow and it’s usually full of tasty delights so I’ve kept light today. It doesn’t seem like Christmas at all. It’s warm and there aren’t many decorations around. We have a park nearby that surrounds a high tower and every year there are nativity scenes in various corners. It’s a lovely sight but this year I haven’t seen it so maybe in a couple of days I’ll venture out to see them. Christmas here hasn’t the same atmosphere as in UK maybe because we are in a village. Merry Christmas and all the best for 2024 Nottstalgians. I was a day early with my Christmas breakfast of pork pie and toast this morning (who cares I enjoyed it)Just waiting on my roasties finishing off to go with the honey and mustard glazed ham tonight. Yum.

All the chicken Kievs I’ve eaten were stuffed with garlic butter. Perhaps I was just unlucky! We’ve got Chicken Alexander tonight. Heaven knows what’s in that!

Warm again today by our standards no snow in sight no snow on the ground first brown Christmas in twenty odd years looks strange. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL NOTTSTALGIANS WHERE EVER YOU ARE HAVE A GUDEN.

I’m getting the same old story that comes round each year. ’I remember that time you came in drunk on Christmas Eve and fell in the tree and knocked it over’. Every year it’s rolled out. It must have been 40 years ago when I was just a lad.

Thanks Barrie. I've just been to look with the telephoto camera but the birds have flown. There was someone walking down the lane in a red coat at the time so they must have scared them. They did have a sack over their shoulder. Could it have been .......?

I took an iPhone picture on full zoom but they were a long way away. I ‘rushed’ downstairs to get my fancy proper camera by which time they were gone. Sausage chips and beans it is then. Anything that’s not festive!

Are you having a couple for dinner tomorrow? I'm told they can be quite tasty with thyme and parsley.
