  1. That was 'Dennys' fault Lizzie,if they had not closed the place down, it would have been a breeze. Denice now has a cell phone, next time we will meet up at your place or ours. Tell Roger the 'Lone Ranger'is almost finished.
  2. I'm right with you on that one Ayup,it is kind of sad to see such a reliance on this latest technology. I have met people who would rather go hungry than give up their cell phone.
  3. Keep safe KTJ,don't take any risks. Time is of the essence, during those wildfires,my thoughts are with your son. Bryan

  8. Sunday early evening,I think it was after 'Sing something simple','Journey into Space'. Back then it was the 'wireless' we use to listen to. As a little kid 6/7, I would get up at 5 am with my dad, while he was getting ready for work I would listen to the shipping forecast,I was intrigued by the various names given to areas in the sea around Britain. They also gave information on the fishing fleets, and their home ports.
  9. Always let your conscience be your guide, 'Jimminy Cricket'
  10. There are so many things that a reasonable person can get pee'd off about, in fact all the phone calls to your credit cards, internet, phone and TV services, are just the tip of the iceberg. The list is endless, and when you get to speak to a human being, they are in some far off location, they read from a script, and never seem able to help to any satisfaction. I have come to the conclusion, that none of it, is worth getting pee'd off about, and that when I walk out of my front door ,I am entering a lunatic asylum, where the idiots are in control.
  11. Got a set in my tool box Mick, then again, most of my tools are vintage.
  12. Chris was an old mate from way back, so sorry to read of his death. The last time I saw Chris, was at a 25 year Dungeon reunion at the Palais 1989. Like so many of the 'old crowd',gone but not forgotten. RIP Chris.
  13. According to the US immigration service, the UK and the rest of western Europe, have not been allocated any green cards or B1/B2 visas for some time. The people who are receiving them, are eastern Europe and India. Not sure about America being short of tradesmen, but it is a fact that they recruit young professionals from India. Weather staying steady around 90 degrees, a cooling breeze late afternoons, luvly.
  14. High 80s here, had the back end of a tropical storm last Thursday and Friday, the ground just soaked it up.Sat watching the grass grow Saturday ,while I drank my early morning coffee,

  17. Beefy, the 8 o'clock bus!!!, that's half the night gone, did you hit your local pub for a couple of hours, before getting the bus to town?
  18. The last time I did a 'Friday night slum' around town must have been 68/69.Always ending the night in 'Yates', then on to a party. These days I can just manage to 'crawl 'to bed.
  19. Thanks' for the correction, I knew there were several sites in the city area, it has to be 40+, years since reading up on the subject.
  20. The mass graves were the victims of a smallpox or cholera outbreak, that were not uncommon many years ago. There were several other local cemeteries, that have mass graves, much the same. Not sure where I read about them, but no doubt a member will come up with the information.
