Breedon on the hill also jogged my memory Michael,when i first worked Birmingham it was on route prior to the M/A 42,always stopped there and sa you say parked across the rd,remember the entrance up steps?...Took much longer to get to 'Brum' but a much more interesting drive,it would have been 60s and early 70s,we prob.breakfeasted together all those years ago mate.lol.

  3. Very true Robbie,.....theres something very touching about a hand written note from a departed loved one.,i have several of them,and it pulls my heart strings whenever i summon the courage to read them.

  7. #4 stood outside what used to be 'Sandersons' chippy' in Bulwell this morning,its still a 'eat in' chippy,and it looks identical to 'cliff tons' photo.on Arkwright st.
  8. Went to a wedding reception upstairs at 'Sandersons' chippy in main st, Bulwell in the 60s,............right posh do. lol. we'd been there at least an hour before the fighting started.
  9. Pigeon crossing the road today with 3 or 4 people on a zebra crossing,on Vernon rd.............wonderful.

TN Parr of Beeston used to make Tomato Sausage,when i worked for the Marsdens shops in the 60s,they were very popular and cost about 3d per lb more than the normal Pork sausauge which was about 2 bob per lb,and Beef sausauge cheaper at 1/6. I even remember Parr's van/salesman (sad init) Big Paddy lovely bloke.

  17. #15 bubblewrap. you are so right 'bubble' but for some reason in my 40s my weight went from between 14 and 15 stone down to 12,and it never changes no matter how or what i eat. I tend to eat little and often 'tapas' style as DJB says.
