My memories of visiting my gran was being quiet when Mrs Dale's Diary came on the radio and then again in the evening 6.45 - 7pm when the Archer's where on the radio, back in the 1950's......Then she listened to them again on the Omnibus Sunday mornings................ I also remember Meet the Huggetts and the Grove Family on the TV........

I watch Emmerdale, Corro and Eastenders....don't know why, I just do...... I think mostly because there is never anything else on the telly worth watching............

Another celebrity death at Christmastime.........this is so sad..........deepest sympathy to his family and friends.....

"RIP Joe Cocker" - I knew him before he became famous......... He did the Working Men's Clubs around North Notts and South Yorkshire and he was a friend of my ex brother in law, Chris.......I can remember his first record, it was called Margarine and did not get anywhere. I tried selling copies around my friends in 1969, his next song was a big hit and he was on his way........what a great guy.......Not a very happy time for his wife and family just 3 days before Christmas - deepest sympathy to them..........Xxx

Butterworth and Walker on Ilkeston Road became GT Cars (Renault Dealers) - I onced worked there when I was a Temp in the 1970's.............

I went to the Brit and Boat clubs in the 60's - it was our summertime haunt......we used to get a pass and go to the Trent Bridge Inn to drink, which we called the TBI.......HAPPY DAYS.......

Robert Horton, who was Flint McCullough on Wagon Train, my first love when I was 13 years old........god, I loved that man...................

I can remember Ralph from the burger bar...........

We knew him and his first wife Sue, who I am still in touch with..................We, (my hubby and me) went around with them when they lived in Gedling.....Was sorry when they split up, because I liked them both.......They had 3 children, Chris was the eldest and he went to live on the Bestwood Estate........Paul went to live in Cotgrave and Sue lives near Newark, they both have new partners now............Did you know that he went in the Police Force ?......

They were avid cricketers, it was their life, also a Dave Marriott belonged to that club, he was a barber...............
