Perhaps it's an age thing? The older I get the more blithering idiots I meet. Many are the same age as me!
-
I set fire to our last one - outdoors of course! It was quite spectacular.

Sorry, gone to see if my mattress is still in date.
-
You can"t even say that now!
-
It's people like you (and me) that the mattress makers are targeting.
-
Exactly!

Most of the people getting scammed would not understand grammar!

What's your life expectancy?

We have a clone from the original Bramley Apple tree in our orchard which has been producing fruit for over 20 years. It came from Merryweather's in Southwell. I understand the original clones were done by Nottingham University and are now widely available.

All I know is it was named "Karlsruhe" after Nottingham's twin town in Germany.

See my previous post of last August. No "E". "Gedling Area Youth" Club.

I live over the river from Syerston. Mainly it's gliders but occasionally it's used for military training with Merlin and Chinook helicopters. Sometimes sounds of gunfire!

They're brewing Shipstone's again at the Belvoir microbrewery at Old Dalby. I picked up a few bottles last year to see if it had the true taste of the Shippo's I remembered. It didn't evoke the happy memories I was expecting. Try it - it's a trip out to the Vale of Belvoir and they do brew a selection of other interesting beers.

Not genuine, I could understand it. -
Bulwell's Worst Fire Perhaps ?

I watched that from my office window of our factory on Haydn Road. Very spectacular. Relived to know that we had a full sprinkler system. The only minor outbreak we had in a flammable solvents store was controlled instantaneously, well before the fire brigade arrived. -

Alex Salmond and Nicola Sturgeon?
-
We seem to be forming a consensus!

What was he put on this earth for? What is the reason for his existence?

Yes, there's a lot of truth in the article, although no one I know behaves like that - or do they when they leave these shores? I go to Scotland and keep my head down.

Derby Airport at Burnaston
philmayfield replied to Tim in the North East's topic in Pete's Nottingham Transport Forum
My father used to send me there on Saturdays back in the 60's. His company sent parcels to Dublin and I used to park his Jag next to the DC3, weigh the parcels on some crude scales and then pass them up to the pilot. Couldn't do that at East Midlands today! -
"Houses" at School
philmayfield replied to Oztalgian's topic in All other Nottingham Schools Discussions
As I remember, at Mellish, when I started in the 50's we had Red, Yellow, Blue and Green. That was too easy though, so they pulled some former teachers out of the hat and we had McKewan, Baulk, Ball, and Buckley. I may have got those wrong - somebody please correct me if I have! -

Not certain about that. I think their headquarters were on Chesterfield Road, Mansfield. -

They went into administration in 2009 but have since relaunched. They are now based in Milton Keynes. -
Tom and Simon's Kitchen have a van that does Lowdham, Southwell, Farnsfield, and East Bridgford. I think they are hireable for functions at weekends. I bought from them in Southwell Co-op car park once and they were quite good.
