loppylugs 8,429
Errrrrrr! I think I did. Talking about folks buying bogg rolls before the snowstorm. Which never materialised here. Well its called random ramblings innit? Lol.
Chulla 4,946
I once had it explained to me how a certain race of people (can't remember which) wiped their behinds. They got a small piece of paper about three inches in diameter, or square, and ripped the centre out of it, just enough to push your finger through. It was important that you saved the piece ripped out. With your finger pushed through you wiped and then pushed the paper back towards the nail, taking any waste with it. This done and disposed of you then folded the small piece of leftover paper to a point and then cleaned out what was under your nail. Why this didn't catch on I will never know.

PeverilPeril 3,292
All this talk about cr.. reminded me that I must get some manure on the veggie patches soon. Hope to take the trailer down to the beach next month for a load of seaweed.
katyjay 5,091
Had dinner out on Saturday night, at a nearby table were a couple with a young child. While waiting for their meal to arrive, mum was turned sideways, back to the child while she used her laptop, child used his smart phone and dad opposite was using his. What a sad world we are in now, conversation is dead.

loppylugs 8,429
Thnks for changing the subject, Katie. :-) Yes, I've noticd numerous kids lately with their own smart phones or maybe they are video games. Nothing like getting them started early. The Olive garden restaurant has started putting some kind of video screen on their tables. I guess you can order or pay your bill this way. I alwas turn ours to the wall. I find it distracting. It also has games for the kiddies. One of the little blighters was playing on one last week and then started to scream the place down. Presumably because the game ended or something. Games are not free, I think it adds them to your bill. I've always liked techy stuff but things are going nuts.

redbowen 131
I have family in Texas and it was not unusual for our niece to Skype us without her mother knowing. She was then two years old.
MargieH 7,614
We often get text messages from our 4 year old grandson, who 'borrows' his Mum's phone when she leaves it lying about. He gets most of the words right - we can understand what he's saying anyway, although usually it's about nothing in particular and ends with loads of kisses!
Guest
If you're not talking to the missus..does texting her" if the dinner is ready?" count?

DAVIDW 1,693
Actually sold something on ebay yesterday . Old shop stock . Well actually its the second item in a week . First one I made a hash of and ended up selling something for £2.50 inc p&p but it cost me £2.80 to post ! Trouble is traders from China are selling similar items (including postage) for less than the postage alone costs me . Who subsidises their postage ?

loppylugs 8,429
Why is the weather going so strange. Wasn't like this when I was a kid. Mostly cold and damp when it wasn't raining. I remember a week at Bridlington when we sat in a cold shelter and looked at the sea. We'd go to the pictures in the afternoon to keep warm. I don't buy the usual explanations about global warming, but summat's going on. It's getting so extreme.
