Jill Sparrow 10,307
Get him to sign a tenancy agreement! I have an eccentric friend who, long before concerns about CFCs, wouldn't have aerosol cans in the house. Spiders were encouraged to spin webs as a natural means of fly disposal. Well, I said he was eccentric! He respected the lives of all creatures and all do have a purpose...though I'm not too sure about homo sapiens.
nonnaB 4,895
My sister in law years ago had a cricket that lived in the cantina. She always talked to it but never saw it until one day it jumped out of hiding and it was white having never seen daylight. She was really sad when it no longer sang to her. 1
PeverilPeril 3,283
Bad start today. Implant processor went bang so now completely deaf. Just hoping that Uni Hospital Birmingham can fix it today, otherwise it will be a very quiet w/e. The building project is going well and the walls are now head high. Just hoping that the brick work can be finished by midweek and the skip, mixer and cement removed. Bloody cement gets everywhere!
Brew 5,419
Hope you sort your implant PP although there are times when I could with something similar. Selective deafness doesn't always work in this house.

nonnaB 4,895
Yes he said he didn't like how things had turned out as he joined because the site was about Nottingham. Unfortunatey we lost a lot of members during that time, but so pleased that some have returned after the storm. 2

philmayfield 6,139
A fiver for a haircut! It costs me £12 and that’s in Blidworth! He did use to work in Southwell so his prices have followed him. Come to think of it there’s no list of prices. I think he charges what he thinks you can afford. I always dress scruffy though!

loppylugs 8,429
I have a lady barber Ben. Her name is Marie. We usually talk dogs as she is a dog nut like me. You'd like her. Used to have a German barber in Calgary. He always reminded me of one of those prison camp commandants you see in the old war films. His favorite line was, "i can take it off, but I cannot stick it back on." Said in that abrupt German way they have. Great guy.
katyjay 5,091
We noticed a lot of barbers in S. Ireland are Turkish. We did wonder why they advertised themselves as such, are they better at their trade? I did Google Turkish Barbers to see if it was a speciality. Nope.

Along one of the shelves is a row of lever arch binders, all full, one for each month and labelled 'Monthly Shrinkage'. The file includes spoilage and damages but I'm told the majority was from shoplifting. The total for the year must be huge.

DJ360 6,730
Yesterday was a good day. Lots of time in the garden catching rays and repairing the damage wrought by high winds and heavy rain. Today is forecast iffy weather..so I'm going to record some vinyl albums to digital. It's a bit time consuming because it has to be done in real time, just like making up tapes used to be. Results are generally better though as my record player makes better sounds than my CD player.. assuming a decent clean record. On the other hand.. If the weather stays like it is now.. bright and sunny.. My plans may change..
FLY2 10,108
Adapt according to the weather Col. There'll be many rainy days later in the year.
