  1. Started the year well with my gym work. 6k rowing and 12k cycling yesterday. 5k rowing and 10k cycling this morning. Probably do another session thisfto. I always row and cycle a lot in January as a team member of a cyber rowing club. The 'January Team Challenge' is a World wide event hosted by Concept2 - the gym equipment manufacturer. My target is to row 500k during January. Sets me up for the year

  2. Beekay, I like that poster as it reminds us that some people like to take their time going from A to B, appreciating other things along the way. And I think you do actually understand the concept of being ‘lost’ - perhaps feeling alone (despite having people around you) and unsure of the direction you want your life to take. Is that a better explanation? The book (and film) is about how we can express our feelings and why some people. Behave in a certain way …. and lots more. Love it

  3. @Beekay Being (or feeling) ‘lost’ isn’t always about a physical place, and this is what the author is attempting to get across to his readers. Also, finding a ‘a home’ isn’t always about an actual house. Hope this makes sense….

  6. When we lived in Anderby we had cess-pits and they were emptied by Cess-Pit -Sid. Just berfore we left 2003 they were going to put most of the village onto the main sewer, just thinking of Cess-Pit -Sid going to sign on and the interviewer asked well Mr Sid what job did you do. ?? The Nottinghamshire 10'o'clock Horses were used in Narrow Marsh and Broad Marsh; they had outside tiolet bin's. These had to be emptid they woud come at 10'o'clock with a horse and cart, to empty them. I was told this as when I met the master my father in law used to live in Narrow marsh,

  8. Apparently the Zulu film show on telly the other day was an edited version? Censorship gone mad I have only watched Match of the Day over the festive period, my Mam was moaning about the recent World Cup coverage, come on even a average TV with free-view must have over 100/150 other channels you could watch

  11. I won't pick on you Barrie! Anyroadup.. My last few days have been good. My pre Christmas bug seems to have gone. I made it to the top of mighty Billinge Hill a couple of days ago. I used a newly opened path, for a different route. It's amazing how a different path through the same terrain can give a whole new perspective. Went up that way again today. Enjoyed it. All that said, I'm glad that Christmas etc...is nearly over.. I need a break...

  12. County - What can only be described as a disappointing 2-2 away draw against lowly Oldham. They are now five points clear of Wrexham who could take over the top spot if they win both their games in hand. Can only hope that Wrexham get absorbed in their upcoming cup games and lose focus on their promotion race. County home against Boreham Wood on Tuesday 10th January. Stags - Lose 2-1 away at fellow promotion rivals Walsall. Two difficult games coming up. Home against Barrow on Saturday and then away at third placed Northampton. These games could define the Stags promotion hopes, pa
