  1. There were never any school photos taken when I was there, strange, from 67 to 72. Any chance of a posting Col?
  2. This one got me into motown.
  3. I remember having to run under that when I ran cross-country at High Pavement.
  4. Here's your photo trogg Glad to be of assistance in posting the image for you.
  5. I think you'd have a job topping this pair that I spotted in London a few years ago.
  6. I was also at HPGS and remember that we were shown a film about road traffic accidents which was extremely graphic. Body bits all over the place, and to top it off on another day we were hoarded around the abattoir to watch animals being slaughtered.
  7. Judging the photo RR someone's making some serious cash from the craze!
  8. Some of my late aunts and uncles may have done as they lived on Oswald Terrace! Their last name was Breffitt.
  9. Agreed Woody but I think the Thief would sue the guy these days and win!

Hi Wayne, yes I've attended many a gala there and the place was base for our Club (see my avatar) for many a year. Good memories of walking from Hyson Green to Beechdale to swim there when it was first built in the very early 70's. I always thought it was a very ugly building though on the outside.
  11. All I did was to get the good wife to buy mine for me, a Linn Basik deck by the way!
  12. DJ360, it took me ages to convince the good wife to have the TV/DVD/Virgin Radio pumped through the HI-FI, now she wouldn't have it any other way!
  13. I was in the Graveyard looking for Thomas North's resting place and took a few photos. Bailey St houses are to the far left of the shot.
  14. 3 weeks Jill! We have received some in November and when do the lights go up???. I say to my friends Christmas starts in mid December but get called a miserable sod.
  15. Must admit Cliff the place looks so much better in the bottom picture, the design of the houses from the outside look more pleasing on the eye than the newer (modern) design. Also in the bottom picture are the Victoria flats beginning to take shape?
  16. and Chulla the former Bennerley line,
  17. I had a walk around St Mary's on Boxing Day, nice church.
  18. According to this book nothing!
  19. I suppose I was very lucky as every Christmas sempt good, my dad worked at Babbington pit and my mum worked at Weldons so money was probably not an issue to them. But having said that I didn't get as many presents as my kids and the grand kids do, still I was happy!
  20. radfordred, I admire you for your honesty lol
  21. Can't remember when I took this shot but it was certainly in a better state then!
  22. To be honest Jill I'm surprised the Council haven't done anything about it as clearly it's totally inhabitable.
