tomlinson 879
Television advertizing has already been discussed in these annals but what really annoys me is the incongruity of the adverts' costing thousands/millions (Christmas is coming), ecouraging us to eat, drink and be merry, being puntuated with requests for £2 a month for foreign aid of some type, medical charities and animal welfare etc. What a pity the funds lavished on trying to get money out of our pockets can't be diverted to more beneficial aims.
crankypig 457
What pees me off ,stupid emails telling me I should follow a link and I will get a free iPhone.I have been getting the same message four or five times on a daily basis.I delete them all, don't they get it?i do not want an iPhone. This only started when I started using an iPad.
loppylugs 8,429
Click links and you'll probably get more than an Iphone, Cranky. (Don't do it!) Yes, find the Ipad much worse for unwanted ads than my laptop. I have Adblock on the laptop and it works great. As far as I know there is nothing for the Ipad that works as well. Probably suits Apple to have it that way. I find the Ipad o-k but I will not buy another Apple product.

ValuerJim 277
Car drivers who won't drive in bus lanes. Saves having to think, I suppose. And people who say 'could of'.
FLY2 10,108
Hucknall Rd near the City Hospital is a prime example. Bus lane empty and the twerps are queuing half way up to Arnold Rd.
Oztalgian 3,298
Just got back from visiting family interstate and find that we have had a planned interruption to our internet connection and that the so called "smart" TV's upon turning on decided to do a full scan of all free to air digital channels (47 found). I have just spent the last 2 hours getting rid of all the useless shopping, marketing, lifestyle and foreign language broadcast stations on both our TV's. Why can't the plonkers who program televisions and associated "boxes" use the opt-in methodology instead of pushing all this dross and then us having to waste our time opting out. catfan 14,793
Last week I sat in my sister's house & saw all those logos & text in her TV screen, If that's modern day telly then I'm glad I never watch it !
FLY2 10,108
Those stupid and cumbersome supermarket trolleys that incorporate a kids buggy shaped like a ladybird or a bumble bee. Young girls can't manoeuvre the damn things and the always seem to be around me. I can just about understand the need for specialised trolleys for people who are incapacitated in some way but these buggy things are a damn nuisance.

BilboroughShirley 1,120
We have been away for a few days and we travelled by rail. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The train seemed quite new and clean but the luggage rack over the seats was made of plastic and had a sign telling people not to put anything heavy on it! There were no luggage racks for a larger case and a notice telling travellers not to block the gangway with luggage! We are constantly being asked to use public transport but the lack of luggage facilities on trains is a disgrace considering the prices they charge. Also the rail network seemed to be dominated by Virgin trains that hurtled through stations without stopping and overtake the London Midland trains at great speed. I love my car! To end on a positive note the luggage issue was the only irritation in what was an excellent few days with good food, good company and good music.
