I remember the bridge over the midland mainline being removed,it was done on a Sunday morning when I paid my first visit to the Great Central, got off the train at Loughborough midland and the bridge in question was being flame cut and sections removed using a STEAM CRANE no less,that must have been at the end of the 70's beginning of the 80's Rog

Bought a bag of Walkers salt and vinegar crisps from Midland station the other week when I visited Nottingham, 85 pence, you could get about 10 bags of crisps from one potato making them spuds £8.50 each Rog

I agree with Chris B it is mainly used as a thoroughfare because it leads somewhere,ie: the bus station or the train station so it's a short cut to both whereas Vic center does'nt really lead anywhere and it's not a short cut, the only bit you could describe as short cut would be from Glasshouse street through to the Trininy square area,well thats my thoughts anyway Rog

We've had "sticky buds" on the horse chestnut tree since middle of October,perhaps we are going to skip winter this year and fast forward to spring,by the way the wood pigeons are still trying it on with each other at the moment Rog

The smell of those paper towels we had at junior school,brings back memories when I order them now for our welfare facilities at work,same smell but over 50 years later Rog
