When did they change the house names?. In my day, they were Newstead, Welbeck, Hardwick and Chatsworth. And what was the reason behind it?

I think on my dad's side of the family, they had a bit of a royalist theme going, grandad was Harry Spencer, grandma was Elizabeth Nora and dad was Harry Geoffrey and I ended up as Stephen Jeffrey. My mother (grrr) was Amy Molly and my sister was just Juliet. Btw perhaps Ann could have a connection with Nottingham ie St Ann's Well rd.

Just to correct a few points, a fall arrest lanyard does not retract in the event of a fall, it actually extends slowly to prevent the person receiving a shock to the body.(5kn) whereas, a fall restraint lanyard stops you from falling in the first place!. a confined space harness has a different attachment point, so that the casualty can be retrieved vertically. There is more technical stuff i could go into, but the basics are as above.

Hi folks, I'm back. Had problems with the old tablet, then got involved with work and doing jobs at home so didn't get time to get on the site. Now I'm on vacation for a few well earned months.got the tablet sorted but forgot my password,durr, now just reset it and back up and running again. Hope you're all fine and looking forward to Christmas, methinks that they should start the countdown earlier so that people don't forget.they seem to have left it till at least a week before bonfire night this year. About Easter time would be about right,anyone else agree/disagree?

When I had my mini van, i lost my fuel cap, or more likely,left it at the petrol station. I stuffed a rag in the hole, on the way down maid Marion way I got pulled by a copper on a motor cycle who proceeded to lecture me on the dangers of such a practice, namely driving around with a sick sticking out of a potential bomb!!!!

I used to do a bit of scuba diving many years back,and have dived the Trent a few times. I can't ever remember the Trent being more than 15ft deep at normal levels. Some places near Clifton bridge were shallower than that!.

Phill, do you mean the 3.5 litre sd1? They didn't do a 3 ltr!. They did a 2.3, 2.6 and a 3.5 v8.
