My dearest wife has spent a lot of money on my present and its on something I will eventually use. Being a down to earth born and bred Hucknalite she doesn't waste money and I hope there isn't a hidden meaning in my present. She gave me this large envelope and in it is a Prepaid Funeral Plan, whilst thankful for this I hope I don't use it for a long time yet. LOL5 points

Have a lovely Christmas folks and let’s look forward to a happy 2020. I like the sound of that ...... 20-20, especially as 2019 has not been a particularly happy year for many of us.4 points

My Christmas jumper says 'Peace, Love, Joy' on the front ,and this is what I wish for all of you, both now and in the future. Enjoy your Christmas - it may not be the same as when you were little... times change and we are all growing older .... but we all have our memories, hopefully happy ones (although I know not everyone's memories are good). Hope you'll all have a lovely time this year, anyway. Love, Margie x4 points

I also remember them, and used to love em. I thought that they tasted differently, the last time I had a packet. Must have been the lack of chloroform!, Although the missus never answered me, when I asked her if the rag i was holding up to her nose, smelt of chloroform !!3 points

Yes! Wishing every one of you a merry Christmas and happy new year. I've always appreciated your input and friendly comments over the years. I doubt I will ever meet any of you personally, but I consider all of you friends. Best wishes Dave, Mrs L and the hounds.2 points

Lunch over at my daughters. Everything perfect. We sat down 1pm and left at 5. 30pm. The restaurant was full mostly large groups. Compliments flying so we were very proud of her. She'd worked very hard this week so now she deserves a rest. Took pics of almost every course so will post tomorrow. Hope everyone is happy and are now having a snooze.1 point

I wouldn't go that far, Beekay. I am now physically disabled and do need a full time carer. Also, I live in a large, rather rambling, old Provence villa which takes quite a bit of looking after. Any money I might have was earned by me. No inheritances, lottery wins or dubious practices - unlike some of the inhabitants of the area1 point

I remember them very well but I think the recipe has been changed since the days when we bought them by the quarter from large screw-topped jars at the sweetie shop. At one time, I believe, they contained chloroform, as did Benylin cough mixture. Addictive!1 point

You mean, under EU law, statues are entitled to holidays, too? Ludicrous! How did we ever get involved with such people? Just checked my garden gnome....he's still there!1 point

I'm here! Thanks everyone for thinking about me. I haven't done much in the way of visiting NS or FB only because since my op I've lost interest in a lot of things. Sounds daft I know, but we had some really dreadful weather and it put me into a hibernating mood. This Christmas I haven't even made any cakes, biscuits or any sort of goodies. I did manage to make 8 tiny GB houses but my daughter decorated them. I haven't even done any Christmas goodie shopping. I can't stand the thought of eating anything Christmassy. Hope it passes. We are having some beautiful weather now , the sun is shining1 point
